Streets near Fox Theater to close Friday for block party

Two downtown Spokane streets will be closed Friday for a block party celebrating the Fox Theater.

First Avenue will be closed from Madison Street to Monroe Street starting at noon. Madison Street will be closed between the railroad viaduct and Sprague starting at 6 a.m.

The “Fox Blox” party will include artists’ demonstrations, chances to play instruments, music and face-painting from 5 to 10 p.m. It’s part of the monthly downtown First Friday program.
