Diamondbacks 4, Dodgers 3: At Phoenix, Eric Byrnes hit a go-ahead, two-run single in the seventh-inning off Hiroki Kuroda, and Arizona stretched its winning streak to six with a victory over Los Angeles. Micah Owings (2-0) allowed three runs and seven hits in seven innings to earn the victory.

Marlins 10, Nationals 4: At Washington, Mike Jacobs hit a pair of two-run homers to back Scott Olsen’s solid pitching and help first-place Florida beat the Nationals.

Mets 8, Phillies 2: At New York, Mike Pelfrey tossed five effective innings in his first start of the season and gave the Mets’ injury-riddled pitching staff a boost in New York’s victory over Philadelphia.

Cardinals 6, Astros 4: At Houston, Albert Pujols hit his first two homers of the year and St. Louis beat the Astros to take its third straight series.

Rockies 12, Braves 6: At Denver, Yorvit Torrealba hit a three-run home run to cap off a six-run third inning and Colorado won its third straight in beating Atlanta.

Reds 12, Brewers 4: At Milwaukee, Adam Dunn and Corey Patterson each hit two-run homers and Cincinnati scored 10 straight runs in a victory over the Brewers.

Cubs 6, Pirates 4 (15): At Pittsburgh, Felix Pie’s two-run single in the 15th inning allowed Chicago to outlast the Pirates. Pie’s hit to left off Phil Dumatrait (0-1) with the bases loaded scored Ryan Theriot and Alfonso Soriano, helping the Cubs win their fourth straight.

Giants 1, Padres 0: At San Francisco, Daniel Ortmeier hit a two-out, RBI double in the ninth, and the Giants won consecutive games for the first time this season in beating San Diego.
