Ryan Wiegand turned in a 3-for-4 performance that paced the Gonzaga Bulldogs to an 8-4 win over the Washington Huskies at the Patterson Baseball Complex on Tuesday and gave GU a two-game non-conference sweep against UW.

The Bulldogs broke the game open in the fourth inning with a pair of two-run home runs from Wiegand and Mark Castellitto to make it a 7-2 lead for Gonzaga.

Bulldogs starter Jeremy Stumetz allowed three runs on eight hits in six innings and earned the victory.

Golf

Gonzaga freshman Rachel Sibbit tied for 11th place with a 27-over 243 and earned honorable mention at the West Coast Conference Championships at Chambers Bay (University Place, Wash.). She missed first-team honors by two strokes. Pepperdine won the team title with a 905 and Gonzaga finished last in the five-team field with a 987.

• Gonzaga senior Trevor Loe shot a 10-over 226 and tied for 14th place with four others to earn WCC honorable mention honors for the second straight year. Gonzaga finished last in team scoring at 922, 34 strokes behind champion San Diego.
