Heather Coulter started and won both games of a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges softball doubleheader Wednesday, striking out 17 and allowing only four hits to beat Columbia Basin 3-1 and 9-0 at Spokane Falls Community College.

Ashley Fargher and Kristine Newell homered for the Sasquatch (20-10, 14-4) in their second game.

CC Spokane is on a 12-game winning streak.

Daisy Cardenas had three hits in a losing effort for the Hawks (11-19, 8-10).

Baseball

Treasure Valley swept CC Spokane 12-7 and 5-3 in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges doubleheader.

Cameron Edman had four hits on the day for the Chukars (21-13, 9-5). Cody Reeves went 4 for 9 with two doubles and a home run for the Sasquatch (13-13, 4-9).

“Kevin Camacho and Matt Stabelfeld combined for a three-hit shutout to lead Lewis-Clark State over Whitworth 5-0 in a non-conference matchup at LCSC’s Harris Field.

Sean Halton went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Warriors (36-4), who are ranked No. 2 in the NAIA. The Warriors are on a seven-game winning streak.

Chad Flett recorded two hits for the Pirates (11-24).

Football

The Spokane Shock (3-0) maintained their No. 2 overall ranking for the third straight week in the arenafootball2 coaches’ poll.

The defending ArenaCup champion Tulsa Talons remain in the No. 1 spot for the fourth straight week.
