Diamondbacks 4, Giants 1: At San Francisco, Brandon Webb (4-0) and Arizona beat Barry Zito (0-4) and the Giants in a pitching matchup featuring a pair of former Cy Young award winners headed in different directions.

Astros 2, Phillies 1: At Philadelphia, Roy Oswalt pitched seven strong innings, Michael Bourn hit a tiebreaking solo homer and Houston beat the Phillies.

Mets 5, Nationals 2: At New York, Carlos Beltran hit his first homer of the season, a three-run shot in a four-run fifth inning, to back John Maine’s solid start and lead the Mets past Washington.

Cubs 12, Reds 3: At Chicago, Derrek Lee homered, Carlos Zambrano pitched seven solid innings while helping himself with three hits and the Cubs jumped to an early lead in beating Cincinnati.

Cardinals 5, Brewers 4: At St. Louis, Adam Wainwright pitched into the eighth inning and homered, helping the Cardinals run their home winning streak to seven with a victory over Milwaukee.

Marlins 6, Braves 5: At Miami, Mike Jacobs hit his sixth home run and Luis Gonzalez added a two-run pinch-hit homer to help Florida beat Atlanta. Former WSU Cougar Mark Hendrickson (3-1) won his third start in a row for the Marlins.

Rockies 10, Padres 2: At San Diego, Garrett Atkins went 4 for 5 with two RBIs and Colorado scored seven runs in the ninth inning of a victory over the Padres.

Dodgers 8, Pirates 1: At Los Angeles, Rafael Furcal went 4 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs, James Loney extended his season-opening hitting streak to 15 games and the Dodgers beat Pittsburgh.
