Liberty Lake police arrested several people on drug charges the week of April 14-21.

The driver, a 23-year-old Spokane man, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, failure to show proof of liability insurance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Arrested with him were a 20-year-old Spokane woman and a 20-year-old Airway Heights woman, for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Two other people also were arrested on drug charges in separate incidents.

Two fugitives were arrested during the week. A 23-year-old Spokane woman was arrested on warrants for possession of a controlled substance, theft and driving with a suspended license after police received a tip that she was at a Liberty Lake address. The second involved a 19-year-old man wanted on misdemeanor warrant for theft. The wanted man was in the Albertsons parking lot at 10 a.m. on April 16 when a police car drove by. Knowing he was wanted, the man turned himself in.

Police made a total of 13 arrests during the week, including several for driving with a suspended license and one for driving under the influence. Eight citations for speeding were issued, as well as seven for failure to wear a safety belt, three for license and plates required, seven for driving with a suspended license, seven for failure to show proof of liability insurance and two for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Additional citations were issued for an animal violation, transfer of license plates, record-of-duty status not current, a log book violation, no stop lights or turn signal, illegal use of studded tires, failure to stop at a stop sign and speeding in a school zone.

Officers handled four car-seat inspections and responded to calls for commercial vehicle violations, fraud, harassment, malicious mischief, a suspicious person, property theft and vehicle prowling.
