Three accused of offering minor for prostitution

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

BOISE – Two men and a woman accused of having sex with a girl under 16 and then advertising the girl for prostitution on the online network Craigslist have been arrested and charged in the case.

Colby R. Watson, 36, of Boise, was charged this week in 4th District Court with two counts of felony lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16, and sexual exploitation of a child.

His girlfriend, Lindsey J. McKeehan, 23, of Boise, is charged with one count of felony lewd conduct with a child under 16.

Both were arrested Wednesday and were being held in the Ada County Jail.

Police told the Idaho Statesman that Douglas A. Winberry, 50, of Meridian, fled to Eastern Washington where he was arrested Tuesday and was being held in the Benton County Jail near Prosser.

The Ada County prosecutor’s office said Winberry has been charged with lewd conduct with a minor under 16, and inducing a person under 18 years of age into prostitution.

Brian Naugle, an Ada County deputy prosecutor, said Thursday that Winberry would be extradited from Washington.

Police said they received a tip on June 19 that Winberry had pictures of the girl in various sexual poses. A search of his home produced evidence he had sex with the girl and that he advertised her for prostitution on Craigslist, police said.

The investigation led to photo and video evidence of Watson and McKeehan engaging in sexual acts with the girl, and evidence that they also advertised the girl on Craigslist for prostitution, police said.

Authorities have not specified the girl’s age.

Meridian Police Lt. Bob Stowe said detectives found evidence that McKeehan, Watson and Winberry knew each other, but he did not disclose the nature of the relationship or how they met.

Stowe said that while there was advertising for prostitution, it was not known whether any prostitution took place.
