Name: Mavis Waarvik

Age: I’m a young 65.

Hometown: I was born and raised in Milwaukee and spent 33 years in Southeast Alaska. We moved here in 2000.

Occupation: I retired in 1994 as the accountant for the hospice/home-care agency in Juneau.

Family: My husband, David, and I have two daughters. Janet lives in Libby, Mont., and Sonja is in Concord, N.H. We also have five grandchildren.

Hobbies: Motorcycling, playing sudoku and crocheting.

What do you like about North Idaho? The weather, especially after living so many years in damp Southeast Alaska. We also appreciate the good roads we have here for motorcycling.
