Pot plants found in cabins near Gig Harbor

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

GIG HARBOR, Wash. – Authorities have seized 506 marijuana plants from some cabins and garages northwest of Gig Harbor.

Bremerton police and members of the West Sound Narcotics Enforcement Team say they found the pot Tuesday on a 7-acre parcel.

A 55-year-old Gig Harbor man who lived on the premises west of the Canterwood Golf and Country Club was arrested and later released.

Investigators say the operation came to light when Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies were looking for someone after a hit-and-run crash in the Silverdale area. Deputies say they saw a man walking quickly to a house, and when they knocked on the door and it was opened they smelled the odor of marijuana.
