Community development money guaranteed

Also Tuesday, the Spokane Valley City Council unanimously ratified a deal – already approved by Spokane County commissioners – to guarantee the city a minimum $300,000-a-year share of federal community development block grant money that comes to a consortium composed of the county government, Spokane Valley and the county’s smaller cities. The consortium would have been ineligible for any money if Spokane Valley had exercised its right to deal directly with the federal government.
