Man arrested after chase in North Idaho
North Idaho law officers pursued a high-speed vehicle Wednesday night and eventually arrested a man who had threatened suicide.
Joshua Edwin Gabert took a car during an altercation in Coeur d’Alene and struck a neighbor who attempted to intervene with the car just after 8 p.m. near 3231 Thorndale Loop, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.
Gabert sped through towns, including residential areas, before crashing in the city of Hayden. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.
The man was taken into custody for suspicion of at least seven crimes, including felonies for aggravated battery and attempted strangulation.
