WSP: Driver in 2 accidents
A driver involved in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 near Spokane on Sunday evening left the scene was found in the median about 40 miles to the west two hours later, the Washington State Patrol said.
Dennis G. Lee, 66, of Sprague, is under investigation in connection with the accidents, troopers said.
They identified him as the driver of a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle that hit a car driven by Amy Heitz, 28, of Longview, Wash., in the eastbound lanes six miles west of downtown Spokane.
Heitz was treated for injuries and released from a local hospital.
Troopers said the accident occurred when Lee went into the left lane and cut off Heitz. Lee may have been affected by a medical condition, troopers said.
