Erwin’s big second half paces Medical Lake

Ray Erwin scored 16 of his 26 points in the second half and the Medical Lake Cardinals handed the Pullman Greyhounds their second loss in as many nights, 46-39, at Medical Lake.

Jaime Fertakis scored 11 points to lead Pullman (13-6, 10-3), which dropped a 55-49 decision to West Valley on Friday.

Erwin had 12 rebounds for Medical Lake (8-11, 5-8).

Washington District 6 1A

Lake Roosevelt 61, Cascade (Leavenworth) 44: At Omak, Ty Egbert scored 20 points and the Raiders (13-7) earned the Caribou Trail League’s No. 3 seed to regionals with a victory over the Kodiaks (10-13).

Three other Raiders scored 10 points apiece.

Washington District 7 1A

Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 44, Chewelah 37: At Mead High School, Brady Blankevoort had 20 points and 13 rebounds and the Eagles (13-9) advanced to regionals as the No. 2 seed with a victory over the Cougars (13-10).

Chewelah is the No. 3 seed.

Washington District 7 2B

The Davenport Gorillas and Northwest Christian Crusaders each earned state tournament berths with victories at Mt. Spokane High School and will meet Saturday for top seeding. Meanwhile, the Republic Tigers and Liberty Lancers saw their seasons come to an end with losses.

Davenport 37, St. George’s 35: Morgan Scharff’s field goal in the lane with just over a minute left gave the Gorillas (17-6) their first trip to state since 1985.

Jarod Gunning scored 14 to lead Davenport.

St. George’s (16-7) will play Selkirk on Wednesday at Mt. Spokane in a loser-out game.

Northwest Christian 68, Reardan 36: Chase Ramey poured in 28 points to carry the Crusaders (24-0) to state.

Reardan (13-12) will face Lind-Ritzville in a loser-out game Wednesday at Mead High School.

Lind-Ritzville 48, Republic 32: Jamie Stevenson had 15 points to keep the Broncos’ (14-11) season alive.

Clay Anderson scored 15 for Republic (6-16).

Selkirk 44, Liberty 42: Colton Enyeart’s layin with 1.3 seconds remaining extended the Rangers’ (15-9) season.

Ross Nesbitt scored 16 for Liberty (9-15).

Washington District 7 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 83, Curlew 45: At Deer Park, Cody Jess scored 19 of his 24 points in the third quarter when the Warriors (18-4) erupted for 31 points in a victory over the Cougars (14-9).

ACH is the No. 1 seed to state; Curlew is No. 2.

Derek Isaak had 13 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds for ACH.

Jordan Wakefield paced Curlew with 25.

Cusick 72, Wellpinit 62: Spencer Shanholtzer and Tyler Edwards split 38 points and Edwards also had nine rebounds and the Panthers (18-5) earned the No. 3 seed to state with a victory over the Redskins (20-3), who are No. 4.

Washington District 9 1B

Tri-Cities Prep 59, Touchet 39: At Endicott, the Jaguars advanced to state with a win over the Indians. Touchet was eliminated.

Washington District 9 2B

Dayton 49, Pomeroy 45: At Colfax High School, the Bulldogs outlasted the Pirates in a loser-out game.

Intermountain League

Priest River 59, Orofino 45: At Orofino, Jake Weimer had 19 points and nine rebounds and the Spartans (16-1, 10-0) completed their perfect league season with a victory over the Maniacs (5-10, 3-6).

St. Maries 61, Bonners Ferry 54: Zach Lehman scored 26 points and Aaron Corsi had 14 to lead the Lumberjacks (14-3, 7-3) past the Badgers (5-14, 3-7).
