St. John-Endicott earns state berth
Alyssa Fitzgerald and Kelly Van Lith had 14 points apiece and Van Lith also had 12 rebounds and four blocked shots and the St. John-Endicott Eagles earned a trip to the State 1B tournament with a 66-56 District 9 girls basketball victory over the Rosalia Spartans at Endicott High School.
Kelsey Simon added 12 points and Emma Raynor 10 for SJE (16-4).
Meaghan Reddish paced Rosalia with 17 points. Katelyn Maley and Briana Maley had 13 and 12, respectively, for the Spartans (11-14), whose season ended.
Washington District 7 1B
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 50, Sprague-Harrington 19: At Deer Park High School, Madeline Isaak had 17 points and Nikki Osborne 10 points, 11 rebounds and five steals as the Warriors (22-1) earned the No. 1 seed to state with a victory over the Falcons (9-11).
S-H is the No. 2 seed.
Columbia 55, St. Michael’s 39: Krista Colvin had 16 points, seven steals and six assists and the Lions (19-4) are going to state as the No. 3 seed after beating the Warriors (10-13).
St. Michael’s is the No. 4 seed.
Great Northern League
Pullman 71, Medical Lake 50: At Medical Lake, Katie Guettinger had 14 points and three other Greyhounds (17-2, 13-0) put in 12 apiece in a victory over the Cardinals (6-11, 4-9).
Washington District 7 1A
Newport 38, Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 36: At Mead High School, Miranda Frederick hit two free throws with 30 seconds left and Amber Lewis added an insurance free throw seconds later to give the Grizzlies (15-9) the No. 2 seed to regionals.
The Eagles (13-9) advance as the third seed.
Washington District 6 1A
Cascade (Leavenworth) 42, Lake Roosevelt 41: At Omak, the Kodiaks (14-6) earned the third seed to regionals with a win over the Raiders (11-8), who go as No. 4.
Washington District 9 2B
DeSales 48, Liberty Christian 43: The Irish beat the Patriots in a loser-out game at Colfax High School.
Tekoa-Oakesdale 61, Waitsburg-Prescott 48: Shelby Puckett scored 27 points and hauled down 16 rebounds to lead the Nighthawks (12-10) past the Cardinals in a loser-out game.
Idaho State 5A
Lake City 66, Madison 61: Senior Katie Baker scored a career-high 33 points to lead the Timberwolves (17-9) past the Bobcats (14-13) at Kuna High for the consolation title.
There were 17 lead changes through three quarters.
But in the fourth period, the T-Wolves wrested control. A 3-pointer by sophomore Sydney Butler and two free throws by Baker gave LC its biggest lead (54-47) with 7:02 to go.
Idaho State 4A
Jerome 69, Lakeland 52: The Tigers (22-5) outscored the Hawks (16-9) 43-26 in the second half to capture the game for third place at Mountain View High School in Meridian.
Senior Camille Reynolds scored 21 points for Lakeland.
