Driving conditions in the West Plains and Medical Lake area are treacherous. A felled tree is blocking Silver Lake Road between Medical Lake - Four Lake Road and Sunny Slope Road, authorities said. Visibility is nearly nothing due to the fog, said Spokane police Officer Teresa Fuller. Black ice also has been reported in the area.

“They are having a mini ice storm,” Fuller said. Freezing fog is clinging to trees and branches, several limbs have fallen into the streets.

Authorities warn of freezing fog on the roadways throughout the Inland Northwest as temperatures remain below freezing, and remind motorists not to be over confident on the roadways just because it’s been treated with deicer.

In Liberty Lake, a jackknifed semi is blocking at Appleway at Rocky Hill Lane.
