Girlfriend held in man’s stabbing
A man was stabbed in the back with a knife Friday night in Tekoa, according to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, identified as Patrick George, told sheriff’s deputies that his girlfriend punched and stabbed him while the two were having an argument. Deputies arrested Cheryl A. Gonzales, 45, at her home and charged her with first-degree assault, said Sgt. Chris Chapman.
George was treated and released at Whitman Community Hospital in Colfax.
During their investigation deputies found marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Chapman said. Further charges may be filed.
