Associated Press
A teenager who helped beat and stab her father to death has been sentenced to 22 years in prison. Jackie Wortham, 18, said today in Spokane County Superior Court that she thinks about her father every day and regrets what she did. Daniel Wortham was attacked in March 2008 when he returned home from a plumbing job. Prosecutors say Jackie Wortham and her boyfriend used a baseball bat, knife, a wrench and a three-foot sword. The boyfriend, Edmond Washington, pleaded guilty today and will be sentenced Oct. 28. Prosecutors are recommending a 22-year sentence.
