Four recovering from two-car crash

Four people injured in a crash at U.S. Highway 95 and Homestead Loop were recovering at a Bonners Ferry hospital Friday night.

A 17-year-old female from Moyie Springs was northbound on Highway 95 in her Kia Rio when she entered the left turn lane before Homestead Loop, according to the Idaho State Police.

She turned in front of a Ford Escape driven by Shirley Elliott, 72, of Bonners Ferry, who had two juvenile female passengers with her. Elliott’s car rolled once, and the teenage driver was trapped in her Kia.

All four people involved were transported to Boundary Community Hospital, where they were in stable condition Friday, a nursing supervisor said. The crash remained under investigation.
