U.S. 395 near Clayton reopens after fatal head-on

One person was killed and three others injured in a two-car head-on collision that was blocking one lane of U.S. Highway 395 south of Clayton at 5:40 a.m., State troopers said. The highway was reopened around 9 a.m. as troopers finished their investigation at the scene. Both lanes of the highway were initially blocked in the collision six miles south of Clayton. Among three persons injured in the accident, one was trapped and then extricated from the wreckage, troopers said. The cause is under investigation.
