Post Falls claims win in Prairie Pig

Tori Davenport scored a game-high 19 points and went 10 for 13 from the free-throw line, Katy King added 15 points and Post Falls (4-5) edged Lakeland (5-5) 59-53 in the Battle for the Prairie Pig rivalry game Friday in PF.

Jenna Davis scored 15 to lead the Hawks, while Neena Buchmann added 14 in the nonleague matchup between IEL opponents.

Lake City 64, Clarkston 55: Sydney Butler scored 23 points and defensively held K.C. McConnell to just nine points as the Timberwolves (7-1) held off a fourth-quarter surge by the Bantams (5-2) in Coeur d’Alene. Jamie Weisner poured in 20 of her 43 points in the fourth quarter for the Bantams.

Colville 56, Medical Lake 28: Ashley Knight finished with 18 points and Tasha Luu added 11 as the Indians (5-0) knocked off the visiting Cardinals (1-4). Knight scored 10 of Colville’s 14 third-quarter points, helping the Indians build a 16-point lead.

Amelia Cook scored 11 points to lead Medical Lake, which was unable to overcome a slow start. The Cardinals scored just two points in the first quarter.

Freeman 51, Deer Park 31: Alyssa Maine scored nine of her game-high 19 points in the first quarter, MacKenzie Taylor tallied 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists and the Scotties (6-1) outscored the Stags (2-3) 31-12 in the first half in Freeman.

Lakeside 48, Colfax 40: Lexie Zappone tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds and five steals and the Eagles (4-2) built an early lead thanks to 13 turnovers by the host Bulldogs (0-2) in the first half. Hannah Harazin led the Bulldogs with 13 points.

Columbia 60, Odessa-Harrington 34: Krista Colvin notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 steals, adding six rebounds and five assists, and Lindsey Loe added 16 points and seven rebounds as the host Lions (6-0) cruised to a win over the Titans (1-4) in Hunters. The Lions scored 31 points to build a 19-point lead by halftime.

Lewiston 50, Hermiston 36: The Bengals (7-0) beat the Bulldogs in Lewiston. No other information was available.

Okanogan 46, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 36: The Bulldogs (3-1) handed the Warriors (4-1) their first loss in Okanogan. No other information was available.

Newport Holiday Tourney

Priest River 42, Riverside 36: Liz Halcro scored eight points to go along with 11 rebounds and the Spartans (1-4) hit enough of their free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off the Rams (1-4). Courtney Davis led the Rams with 18 points, scoring 11 in the fourth quarter.

Newport 66, Cusick 28: Miranda Frederick scored 23 points to go with four assists and four steals, Courtney Wiese added 16 points and the Grizzlies (7-0) held the Panthers (0-2) to just eight points in the second half.

The Grizzlies will play Priest River at 6 p.m. today in the championship game. Cusick will play Riverside in the consolation game at 2:30.

North Star

Wallace 49, Mullan 44: The visiting Miners (4-4, 1-0) beat the Tigers (1-6, 1-2). No other information was available.

Bi-County 2B

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 44, St. George’s 20: Heather Whitmore finished with 14 points, five rebounds and three steals and the Broncos (3-3, 1-1) took a 17-point lead into halftime, coasting to a win against the visiting Dragons (0-4, 0-1).

Kettle Falls 52, Liberty 26: Devon Stomley and Samantha Charlton combined for 25 points and the Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1) held the Lancers (1-3, 0-2) to just eight points in the first half in Spangle. The Bulldogs took advantage, scoring 32 to take a 24-point lead into halftime.

Reardan 60, Springdale 19: Kelsey Moos scored 18 points and Liz Flowers added 14 as the visiting Indians (4-1, 3-0) held the Chargers (0-5, 0-2) to just two points in the first half. In the first half, the Indians built a 36-2 lead going into the break.

Southeast 1B

St. John-Endicott 42, Garfield-Palouse 38: Gretchen Van Lith scored 18 points, including four in the final minutes, to help the Eagles (5-0, 3-0) seal the win over the host Vikings (3-3, 0-2). SJE outscored the Vikings 38-28 in the final three quarters to erase an early deficit.

Kaycie Adair scored 14 points to go with seven rebounds and five steals for the Vikings.

Colton 63, Touchet 5: Mollie Kramer hit four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 19 points and McKenzie Heaslett added 12 points as the Wildcats (4-1, 3-0) shut out the visiting Indians (1-4, 0-3) in the second half. Haley Moser scored 10 points as the third Wildcat to score in double figures.

Pomeroy 44, LaCrosse-Washtucna 17: Karlie Martin and Brielle Hocking combined for 24 points and the Pirates (5-1, 2-1) held the visiting Tigercats (0-6, 0-2) scoreless in the first quarter, allowing just six points in the first half.
