Eagles trounce Bantams

Shaniqua Nilles had 21 points and 12 rebounds and the West Valley girls basketball team stormed its way into the District 7 tournament title game with a 55-19 win over Clarkston (10-12) at WV.

The Eagles (21-0) play Pullman in the district title game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Central Valley High School, with the winner advancing to the state tournament as the No. 1 seed and the loser as the No. 2. Clarkston will play Cheney Wednesday at 6 p.m. at CV for the No. 3 seed to state.

Pullman 68, Cheney 39: Shelby Cheslek scored 20 points and Danielle Hodge added 14 as the Greyhounds (16-5) earned a state tournament berth with a victory over the Blackhawks (10-12) in Pullman.

1A Regional

Freeman 50, Okanogan 39: With the No. 1 seed to the state tournament on the line, the Scotties (22-1) received 11 points, 13 rebounds and four assists from MacKenzie Taylor to help knock off the Bulldogs in Moses Lake. With the loss, the Bulldogs take the No. 2 seed to state.

Chelan 56, Newport 34: The Goats outscored the Grizzlies (13-13) 23-10 in the third quarter to pull away and advance as the No. 4 seed to the state tournament. The Grizzlies were eliminated.

District 7 2B

Reardan 59, Lind-Ritzville 39: The Indians (21-5) eliminated the Broncos (16-12) to advance to state as the No. 2 seed from District 7 at Mt. Spokane HS.

Boys

1A Regional

Chelan 70, Freeman 56: Joe Harris poured in 36 points and the Goats earned the No. 1 seed to state with their win over the Scotties (18-5) in Moses Lake. The Scotties go as the No. 2 seed.

Lake Roosevelt 54, Cashmere 46: Cade and Ty Egbert combined for 29 points as the Raiders outlasted the Bulldogs in Moses Lake to earn the No. 4 seed to the state tournament.

District 7 2B

Colfax 50, Lind-Ritzville 47: Justin Berarducci tallied 13 points and 14 rebounds as the Bulldogs (18-8) advanced to the state tournament as the No. 2 seed out of the district with their win over the Broncos (19-9) at Mt. Spokane HS.

Idaho 3A District I-II

St. Maries 41, Bonners Ferry 38: Zach Lehman scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Lumberjacks (11-8) rallied from a 10-point deficit to outscore the Badgers (8-14) 18-5 in the fourth in Rathdrum. The Lumberjacks advance to state as the No. 2 from the district.

Idaho 1A Division 1

Troy 55, Wallace 32: The Trojans (19-6) beat the Miners (11-10) in their play-in game to advance to the state tournament in St. Maries.
