Week in review

Spokane Valley Fire – A promotion ceremony was held for new assistant Fire Marshal Terry Thompson and inspector Greg Bennett. Chief Thompson reported that the department came in about 3 percent under budget for 2009. The number of runs was down slightly in 2009 from 2008. Commissioners approved moving forward with getting a permit for the new Station 10.

Rockford City Council – The council heard updates on several grant funded projects. They also discussed putting a six-year replacement EMS levy and annual fire levy on the November ballot. Council member Clint Stevenson was named mayor pro tem. (Source: Town clerk)
