One killed, one hurt when plane crashes

One man is dead and another was seriously injured after their plane became tangled in a power line north of Keller, Wash., and crashed, according to the Colville Tribal Police Department. Justin Marchand, 21, of Colfax, and Elwyn Fletcher, 66, flew into the power lines on Highway 21 around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. The fixed-wing, single-engine Cessna was registered to Fletcher Cattle Co. of Mesa, Wash., according to tribal police. Fletcher died at the scene. Marchand was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where a nursing supervisor said he was in serious condition Tuesday. Tribal police are unsure who was piloting the aircraft.
