Bulls have good night

None of the cowboys entered in the regular bull-riding event came up with a score in Saturday night’s go-round at the Cheney Rodeo at Bi-Mart Arena, but a Moses Lake rider did score in the open division.

Dakota Beck came up with a score of 63, the only rider to notch a score after two days in the open division, in which anyone 18 or over who pays a $50 entry fee can enter. Ten more riders are scheduled for the open division today, the final day of the rodeo. Action begins at 2 p.m.

Clay Creasy of Brownfield, Alberta, was the saddlebronc winner with a 70. Vickie Westwood of Prineville, Ore., won barrel racing at 17.67 seconds. Odo Grandi of New Plymouth, Idaho, and Tommy Flenniken Jr. of Redmond, Ore., were easy winners in the team roping at 7.8 seconds. Nathan Bayes of Adrian, Ore., won in bareback riding with a 76.

Soccer

The Spokane Black Widows downed the San Francisco Nighthawks 4-2 in a Women’s Premier Soccer League game at Albi Stadium.

Spokane (5-4-0) sent the Nighthawks to their seventh defeat in 10 matches. The Black Widows are host to the Sacramento Pride today at 3 p.m. at Albi. The Pride were winless going into their game Friday night at Portland.
