In brief: Trail-building volunteers needed

SPOKANE – The city of Spokane Parks and Recreation needs volunteers to help build a new trail link in Spokane on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. at the West Francis Avenue cul-de-sac.

Volunteers will help work on the trail that will connect Riverside State Park to the new Dwight Merkel Sports Complex. The trail will provide opportunities for biking, hiking, running, and dog walking. The goal is to complete the project by Aug. 7.

Workers are asked to bring any tools they may have available.

‘Annie’ fundraiser

for senior centers

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Civic Theatre will perform “Annie Get Your Gun!” on Wednesday at 1020 N. Howard St., at 7:30 p.m. The show is a fundraiser for Senior Centers in Spokane.

Tickets are $35 per person and include appetizers and beverages.

Tickets may be purchased at all local Senior Centers.

BOBfest Saturday

at Clocktower

SPOKANE – The Chase Youth Commission will hold BOBfest – Battle of the Bands on Saturday at the Clocktower Meadow in Riverfront Park, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The annual event includes 12 local bands, sharing their musical talent and battling it out for a complete CD package from College Road Recording, paid performances at Riverfront Park’s Fourth of July celebration, Pig Out in the Park, and First Night, along with gift certificates from Hoffman Music.

Pride parade downtown Saturday

RIVERSIDE – OutSpokane will have the 19th annual “Pride Parade and Rainbow Festival” on Saturday, beginning at noon, on the streets of downtown Spokane and in the Gondola Meadows in Riverfront Park.
