Judge says hand it over

A bankruptcy judge has ordered Major League Baseball to turn over certain documents to some of the Texas Rangers’ angry creditors trying to block the team’s sale.

But U.S Bankruptcy Judge Stacey Jernigan on Monday also ordered creditors to give documents to the team and baseball commissioner.

Each side accused the other of withholding documents related to the team’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing last month.

Zambrano restricted

 Carlos Zambrano will be placed on the restricted list and the Chicago Cubs expect to be without the hot-tempered pitcher until at least the All-Star break.

Zambrano has been suspended by the team without pay for the past three games, after he threw a tirade in the dugout Friday that led to a verbal confrontation with teammate Derrek Lee.

Clearing the bases

 The Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies will make up their rainout from this spring on Sept. 2 at Coors Field. … Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is expected to miss six weeks with his broken left foot. … Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz strained his hamstring running the bases Saturday in San Francisco, but the team said he might avoid a trip to the disabled list.
