Novena at St. Al’s will begin Saturday

St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone Ave., will present its 83rd annual Novena of Grace, nine days of prayer and worship, Saturday through March 14.

The services will be held at 12:15, 3:30 and 5:15 p.m. daily, except on Sundays when the first Novena service will be at 12:30 p.m.

This year’s theme will be “From the Heart of the Church to the Frontiers” and will be led by the Revs. Paul Cochran, Bob Erickson and Chuck Schmitz.

Celtic service

St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., will offer a Celtic Christian Communion service today at 7 p.m.

The service will celebrate the church’s patron saint, David, and a reception will be held after the service.

Movie nights

Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, 4449 N. Nevada St., will present the movie “The Passion of the Christ” Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

The movie is rated R for violent images.

The church will also host a premiere of the movie “Class of ’91” Saturday at 2 p.m.

The producers are premiering it for free in churches around the country.
