Beavers end streak, beat Cougars

Julie Futch scored 13 points, all in the second half, as Oregon State ended a 17-game losing streak by beating Washington State 50-45 on Sunday in Pullman.

Kirsten Tilleman added 10 points and 14 rebounds as Oregon State (10-19, 2-16) closed out the Pac-10 season.

Katie Madison had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Washington State (8-21, 3-15), and April Cook added 13 points for the Cougars.

The ninth-seeded Cougars open the Pac-10 tournament against eighth-seeded Arizona on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Los Angeles.

•Regina Rogers scored 14 of her 15 points in the second half and had eight rebounds to help Washington defeat Oregon 62-53 in Seattle in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Kristi Kingma scored 11 and Sarah Morton 10 for the Huskies (12-16, 7-11 Pac-10), who won their third consecutive game.

The seventh-seeded Huskies open the Pac-10 tournament Thursday at 8:15 p.m. against No. 10 seed Oregon State.

•Defending conference champion Lane pulled away in the second half to beat Community Colleges of Spokane 51-37 late Saturday at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges tournament in Pasco.

Korrie Bourn led the Sasquatch (16-10) with 10 points and seven rebounds.

CCS played Highline in a consolation bracket game late Sunday.

Men

Chris Pynch recorded the first triple-double of the tournament as Community Colleges of Spokane beat Shoreline 90-71 at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges tournament in Pasco.

Zach Humphrey scored 25 points for the Sasquatch, Kevin Bond added 23 and Pynch finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

CC Spokane plays Big Bend today at 10 a.m. in a loser-out game.
