Signed The Seattle Seahawks have signed special teams standout Sean Morey to a multiyear contract. Morey is a 2008 Pro Bowl selection from the Arizona Cardinals. The 34-year-old was an alternate for last season’s Pro Bowl.

•Wide receiver Steve Breaston and starting center Lyle Sendlein are among five players who have re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals. The others are nose tackle Gabe Watson, linebacker Monty Beisel and cornerback Michael Adams.

Died The winningest men’s basketball coach in Montana State-Billings history, Harry “Mike” Harkins, died Sunday morning due to complications from muscular dystrophy. He was 81. Harkins coached at what was then Eastern Montana College from 1960-76, posting a 290-158 record and winning 12 conference championships. His teams won 10 NAIA district championships and advanced to the NAIA national tournament each of those years.

Hired Central Florida has hired Donnie Jones as its new men’s basketball head coach.

•Louisiana-Lafayette has hired former Sam Houston State coach Bob Marlin as the new head coach of the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Transferring Arizona forward D.J. Shumpert has decided to transfer. The 6-foot-7 sophomore forward hasn’t announced his next school.

•California has granted guard D.J. Seeley a release from his scholarship to allow him to transfer to another school.

Leaving Guard Manny Harris says he will forego his senior season at Michigan to enter the NBA draft.
