Free children’s lunches at Community of Christ

The congregation of Community of Christ Church is now serving a free lunch to children two days a week. The meals have already begun and are served every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church at the corner of Broadway and Bowdish.

Children up to age 18 may have lunch for free. The meals will be served through the month of August.

“We’re not expecting (donations) or asking it at all,” said church member Tamryn Parker-Carver.

Vacation Bible school

Gethsemane Lutheran Church will host an evening vacation Bible school next week. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. each day for children age 5 and up, including adults.

The theme of the VBS is “Space Station Salvation.” There is no charge to attend but donations will be accepted. Call the church office at (509) 926-3317 for more information or to register. The church is at 11315 E. Broadway.
