Sunday Feast features market vendors’ goods

The Spokane Farmers Market will host its second Feast with the Farms on Sunday.

The dinner will feature the produce grown by the farmers who sell their produce at the market, prepared by Sylvia Wilson of Feast Catering Co. The evening also includes drinks including infusions made with market ingredients, silent and live auctions and the music of Brad Keeler. It will be held at Urban Eden Farm in Vinegar Flats. Tickets are $40 per person and guests must be at least 21 years old. All proceeds benefit the market.

The menu includes appetizers of bruschetta with goat cheese and eggplant caviar and chilled cucumber and herb gazpacho. Dinner features a golden beet and heirloom tomato salad with basil oil and chevre along with Many Rocks organic chicken, grilled with sage, olives, grilled sweet onions and lemon.

A vegan entrée option is savory lentil cake with roasted pepper sauce.

Other dishes include herbed zucchini gratin, savory leek and corn pudding, smoked potato salad and tri-colored baby carrots with coriander.

Dessert features grilled honey peach with mascarpone and balsamic reduction.

Purchase tickets at the farmers market information booth or call (509) 995-0182. The Spokane Farmers Market is located at 10 W. Fifth Ave., between Division and Browne. It is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
