Rec guide filled with classes
The Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Department’s Fall and Winter Recreation Guide might be the cure for the end of summertime blues.
The guide boasts some new programs. The new health and wellness section offers many feel-good classes, including a healthy cooking class and nutrition workshops with licensed dietitians.
Looking to start your New Year’s resolution early? Sign up for the group exercise sampler class in partnership with the YMCA that allows you to try a variety of classes to see which you like best.
The activity brochure also offers new classes to improve social skills and networking at any age. Sign up for the art of networking course for adults or the princess tea parties for preschoolers and etiquette class for youth.
The guide also returns with pages full of longtime favorites in preschool, youth, adult and senior recreation. You could learn the elegant foxtrot or spicy cha cha at adult dance lessons or give your teen valuable experience at a baby sitter’s training course.
Pick up the guide at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, City Hall and at the Millwood and Spokane Valley public libraries to learn more about classes, reserving park facilities and local events.
Online registration begins today. Sign up for classes at www.spokanevalley.org and select the Park/Pools/Rec link on the left-hand side of the page. While online, learn about the other forms of registration, including in person and by phone, which begin Monday.
