In brief: Teen Videofest is tonight

RIVERSIDE – Tonight, Spokane County teenagers will have an opportunity to show off their filmmaking skills during the premiere and awards night for Teen Videofest, held at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln St., from 7 to 9 p.m.

The theme “Raise Your Voice” challenged area youths to address topics affecting teenagers.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes.

The event is free but reservations are encouraged.

Donate food, get a coffee

SPOKANE/COEUR D’ALENE – Dutch Bros. Coffee will celebrate “Dutch ‘Luv’ Day” on Monday with a food drive at each of its drive-through locations to benefit area food banks.

Visitors of Dutch Bros. sites in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene will receive a wrist band for donating one nonperishable food item or a $1 drink for three food items.

Dance to benefit youths

SPOKANE VALLEY – CenterPlace, 2424 N. Discovery Place, will host a Sweetheart Dance on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. to benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Spokane.

The evening will include complimentary wine tasting, dancing with disc jockey Jeff Keen, a dessert bar from Red Rock Catering and a comedian.

CYT offers ‘Music Man, Jr.’

RIVERSIDE – The Christian Youth Theatre will perform “The Music Man, Jr.” beginning Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Bing Crosby Theatre, 901 W. Sprague Ave.

Other performance dates include Feb. 26 and March 5 at 3 and 7 p.m.; March 4 at 7 p.m.; and March 6 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $11 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. Tickets for the 3 p.m. show on Feb. 26 are $9. Tickets may be purchased at www.cytspokane.com or by calling the box office at (509) 487-6540.

Tickets purchased at the door are $14.

Event to help Pet Savers

NEVADA/LIDGERWOOD – The annual Pet Savers Wine Tasting and Silent Auction is planned for Feb. 25 at The Service Station, 9315 N. Nevada St., from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event will include a silent auction along with wine and beer tasting.

Dental care offered to vets

CHENEY – As part of its Community Service Day for winter quarter, students in the Eastern Washington University dental hygiene department will provide low-cost dental care on Valentine’s Day to EWU students who are veterans.

Smiles for Veterans Day will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the dental hygiene clinic at EWU Spokane on the Riverpoint Campus. The cost is $10 per person.
