In brief: Reward offered in food stand case

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in the vandalism and burglary of a Mexican food stand in Coeur d’Alene earlier this month.

The owner of Tacos Los Panchos, 2102 N. Fourth St., noticed at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 11 that someone had cut the power, propane and heater lines to the trailer, a news release from Crime Stoppers said. The burglar also stole portions of the lines.

The food stand also was burglarized Dec. 6 sometime after 6:30 p.m. The door was pried open and someone stole cash, laptops, an MP3 player and a DVD player.

Tacos Los Panchos and other Mexican food stands in the region also have been picketed by white supremacists recently.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (208) 667-2111 or toll free at (800) 222-TIPS (8477). Callers are asked to use a code name or number and do not have to use their own name to be eligible for a reward.

Man sought for probation breach

A man on probation for assault in King County is wanted by North Idaho authorities after failing to check in with the state Department of Corrections.

Grant “Bear” Timothy Larson, 31, may be traveling to Canada with Marie Thompson, 25, and their 4-month-old baby.

Larson was convicted of third-degree assault in King County in December and allowed to move to Idaho, but he didn’t check in with authorities as required.

Now he’s wanted for escape from community custody and for violating probation for assault and battery charges from 2008 in Bonner County.

Investigators believe Larson and Thompson are driving a white 1997 Toyota Rav 4, Idaho license plate 7BF7802, that belongs to Thompson’s mother.

Larson, 5-foot-7 and 210 pounds, has numerous tattoos, including “savage” and “oso tight” on his neck.
