NASCAR, IndyCar need to increase safety

On the subject of NASCAR/Indy racing, I believe they need to quit building race tracks that replicate barrel racing. They need to govern the tracks and their safety procedures in the same way that they govern the cars. There would be the same exciting racing without the devastating results we are seeing today.

Being an ex-racecar builder and driver, I am disappointed where NASCAR and IndyCar racing is at today. I strongly believe that a $5 million bonus offer to a driver may pump them up a little more than we would think. I believe that they should take a step back and take a good hard look where they are going with their racing leagues and stop producing the monkey-in-the-barrel-race style like carnivals and fairs had so long ago.
