Vote totals for two political races were in error

Due to a reporter’s error, vote totals for two races were incorrect in a chart attached to the story “Incumbents slide, try to explain shift,” which ran in Thursday’s newspaper. After Wednesday’s count, Mike Allen led Richard Rush for a seat on the Spokane City Council, 7,979 votes to 7,773 votes and Ben Wick led Marilyn Cline 8,857 to 8,752.

Information about levy funding was incorrect

If the state cut 100 percent of the levy equalization funding it gives to Mead and Central Valley school districts, the amounts would be $3.4 and $4.3 million, respectively. Due to a reporter’s error, that information was incorrect in a story Thursday on Page One about Spokane area levies.
