Fourteen Lilac Court candidates named

The Spokane Lilac Festival has named the Fabulous 14 candidates for its 2012 Dream & Reach For the Stars Royal Court.

The Fab 14 are Jasmin Hallam, Rogers High School; Briony Denker, Gonzaga Prep; Jessica Salcido, Havermale; Madison McHenry-Kroetsch, North Central; Madelaine Reid, Lewis and Clark; Bethany Anne Hand, Mt. Spokane; Hannah Allen, University; Hailey Ann Murray, West Valley; Sydnee Scofield, Central Valley; Linnea Kissler, Cheney; Sarah Letsch, Shadle; Julia Vogelsang, Northwest Christian; Katie Sweeney, Mead; and Alexis Schwartz, Ferris.

The candidates were chosen from 30 high schools from throughout Spokane County. They will go through two months of leadership training before competing for scholarships and in the 2012 Coronation Ceremony Jan. 29 at 3:30 p.m. at the Spokane Masonic Center.
