In brief: Domestic violence awareness event planned

AIRWAY HEIGHTS – The city of Airway Heights invites area residents to the community center, 13120 W. 13th Ave., second floor, to support domestic violence awareness month on Monday, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Attendees learn how they can be a part of ending the cycle, with information provided by representatives from the YWCA, Bridges to Safety, Tapio Counseling, Colonial Clinic, Lutheran Family Services and the Department of Corrections.

Spokane Children’s Theater opens season with ‘Aladdin’

WEST HILLS – Spokane Children’s Theatre will open its 66th season with Disney’s “Aladdin” on Friday at 1 and 4 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College, 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive.

Jasmine, Aladdin and the Genie will also take the stage on Saturday and Oct. 22 at 1 and 4 p.m. and at 1 p.m. only on Oct. 23.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT or on their website at www.TicketsWest.com.
