In brief: Meeting on Evergreen Road work

From Local Reports

SPOKANE VALLEY – Residents who live along Evergreen Road or use the road in their daily commute are invited to an open house to learn more about the improvements planned this summer for the stretch of road between 16th and 32nd avenues. The open house will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Vera Water and Power, 601 N. Evergreen Road. The project is being completed in partnership with Vera Water and Power, which plans to install a new water line underneath the street.

Some privately owned landscaping and fencing in the city right of way may need to be removed. The plans calls for resurfacing Evergreen between 16th and 24th, reconstructing Evergreen between 24th and 32nd, and reconstructing 32nd between Evergreen and Best Road. Some sidewalks and turn lanes will also be added.

Call the city at (509) 720-5001 for more information about the project.
