Norman Gilbert Bestwick was born on October 6, 1922 in Missoula, MT to Thomas Bestwick and Anna Linn Bestwick.

He passed on April 17, 2012 in Spokane Valley, WA.

He was 89.

Norm graduated from Alberton High School in 1941.

He worked at Lockheed Aircraft during WWII then for the Milwaukee Railroad.

He loved being a railroader all his live long days, he retired in 1982.

Norm married June Marie Cooper March 3, 1949 in Missoula, MT.

They lived most of their 63 years of married life in Spokane Valley.

Fishing, duck hunting, traveling and coin collecting were his hobbies.

He belonged to the Coin Club, Railroad Retirement Association, and YMCA until health kept him from attending.

He was proud of his Swedish/English heritage and his Montana roots.

Dad, Pappy, brother, uncle, Norm, you will be missed, but your love of family, sense of humor and legacy lives on in our hearts and minds.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas (Loretta) Harry Bestwick of Newberg, OR; daughters, Susan (Roger) Marie Gimmestad, of Twisp, WA; Bonnie (Ron) Rae Severtsen of Richland, WA; seven much loved grandchildren and seven greatly loved great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife by 10 days, brother Herbert Linn Bestwick, sisters Ruth Ann Fish and Eleanor Mae Robinson.

His service will be Saturday, April 21 at 10 AM at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, his ashes are in Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens with some sprinkled at the Natural Pier Bridge in Alberton, Montana this July.
