Our family celebrates the life of Carol Elaine Bales, our loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, “Grammie” and friend.

She was called to be with our Lord on Good Friday, April 6th at the age of 80.
Carol was born Carol Elaine Bushnell in Spokane, WA on December 2nd., 1931 to Milo and Crystal Bushnell.

She attended Central Elementary, Dayton High School and the Helen Bush School in Seattle, WA.

On September 17th., 1950 she married the love of her life Donald Bales at the First Methodist Church in Dayton, WA.


Carol and Don moved to western Washington in 1957 and were blessed with three sons.

Carol spent most of her time raising her boys, but also attended Everett Community College, worked at the Bank of Everett in Marysville, WA and ENI Oil and Gas in Bellevue, WA.

She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and United Methodist Churches in Marysville, Bellevue, Spokane and Sedro Woolley, WA.


She will forever be remembered for her uncommon generosity, genuine concern for others, contagious laugh and a smile that healed.

She had a truly kind and gentle soul.

We miss her.
Carol is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don, her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Jim Wesoloski of Hadley, MA, sons and daughters-in-law David and Margaret of Stanwood, WA, Michael and Judy of Lake Stevens, WA, Timothy and Tamar of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Carrie, Tyler, Mikaylee, Kaylee, Hannah and Taylor.


A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 6th at 3:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church in Sedro-Woolley, WA.

The family encourages remembrances to your local food bank, homeless shelter, Habitat for Humanity or Housing Hope.
