Goated into action: Andrea Berndt, Wishing Star Foundation volunteer for the sixth annual “Send a Friend a Goat,” snuggles with Joey, a 1-month-old Alpine dairy goat, as they wait for the arrival of Boy Scouts of America Executive Tim McCandless at the Inland Northwest Council headquarters Tuesday in Spokane. Volunteer teams are delivering baby goats to members of the Spokane community for a $50 donation to Wishing Star. The recipient is then asked to donate to remove the goat. Wishing Star is even offering “goat insurance” to prevent a surprise visit. The fundraiser runs through Friday. (Dan Pelle)
