Contents were ejected from home before fire

Neighbors report the items were tossed from the home earlier this evening before the fire was reported. The fire was contained to the second floor. Fire officials are calling a house fire tonight in West Central suspicious. Crews responded to a report of smoke coming from home on the 1800 block of West Boone Avenue around 9 p.m. The fire, which had been reported coming from the roof, was quickly knocked down. Investigators said no one was in the home when firefighters arrived. Witnesses at the scene said they saw someone bringing boxes containing household items out into the front yard starting around 7 p.m. A no-trespassing notice was on the window of the home. Investigators said items found on the second floor indicated someone may have been staying in the home recently.
