North Idaho routs Yakima behind Lewis


Keon Lewis made all 13 of his free throws and finished with 23 points as the North Idaho men’s basketball team beat Yakima Valley 113-75 at the Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic Saturday in Coeur d’Alene.

Mike Middlebrooks added 18 points, six rebounds and six blocks for the Cardinals, who earned a spot in today’s championship game.

North Idaho (10-1) will be matched up against Green River (4-1), which beat Community Colleges of Spokane 84-78 in overtime at Spokane Community College.

Mitch Haggerty and Kortney Darby scored 18 points apiece for the Gators. The Sasquatch were led by Brady Bagby’s 22 points and 12 rebounds.

CCS (3-2) will play Edmonds CC (2-1) today for third place.
