Masked robbers steal coins, truck from Valley man

A Spokane Valley man was tied up and robbed this morning by masked gunmen who confronted him in his garage, authorities said. The 59-year-old victim was later freed by a neighbor who heard him yelling for help, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. The robbers reportedly took unspecified coins from the victim, and his black 1997 Ford F350 pickup truck with silver stripe. The robbery occurred just before 11 a.m. in a detached garage to a home in the 13800 block of East Heroy, deputies said, adding that one of the masked men was armed with a black pistol. The sheriff’s office is asking for help locating the truck, which has Washington license plate number B40063U. The first robber was described as about 6-foot tall wearing a dark jacket with white on it and dark pants or jeans. The second was about 5-foot-9 wearing a red plaid type jacket with dark pants or jeans. Anyone with information about the robbery or the location of the stolen truck is asked to contact 911, but is advised to avoid making contact because the individuals may still be armed.
