Obituary: Meidling, Emma

MEIDLING Emma Emma Meidling, 86, passed away on December 21, 2012, in the presence of her family.

She was born April 16, 1926 in Bowdle, S. Dakota, to Rudolph and Ida Aldinger.

Her mother died when she was 2 years old and the family was split up.

Finding herself a single mother of 3, she found help from Ed and Donna Meidling to get through nursing school.

She became an LPN and worked at Natrona County Hospital in Casper, Wyoming for 9 years and Spokane Valley General Hospital for 21 years.

She continued helping the elderly and others even after retire- ment.

She enjoyed baking and making crafts when she wasn’t working.

She was a devoted Christian, and a member of Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene.

Emma is survived by her daughters, Pam (Tim) Wheatley, Vicki (Alvino) Vargas; son, Mike (Teri) Meidling; six grandchildren, Brooks, Michael, and Janae Wheatley, Betina Vargas, Arin LaMountain, and Cheyenne Meidling; numerous nieces and nephews including Fran, Curt and Kate.

Also surviving are sister, Alma; brother, Marvin; step- sister, Loretta; and half-brother, Delbert.

She was preceded in death by 10 siblings, 5 step-siblings, and 1 half-brother.

A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:00 A.M at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd.
