Obituary: Schmidt, Cora

Age 83

SCHMIDT, Cora (Age 83) Cora Schmidt, 83, a resident of Valley, Washington, passed away December 20, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington.

She was born in Startup, Washington to Jacob and Pauline (Mittleider) Neiffer on September 12, 1929.

She attended Monroe High School and graduated in 1947.

She then moved to Seattle and worked at Bartell Drug Store.

She married Thomas Larson on September 28, 1948 in Seattle.

They resided in Kodiak, Alaska until 1954 where their three daughters were born.

Cora married Roy M. Schmidt on May 2, 1963 in Seattle, Washington.

They both worked for The Boeing Company until 1970 when they purchased the Roskam Dairy in Valley, Washington.

She enjoyed gardening, quilt making, cryptograms, playing cards and spending time with her family.

She attended Crossroads Community Church.

Cora is survived by her daughters; Barbara Larson of Maple Valley, Washington, Patricia Larson of Lincoln, California and Bonnie Larson of Portland, Oregon, grandchildren; Gary Dahl of Covington, Washington, Danielle Brunet (Phil) of Kent, Washington and Derrek Dahl (Trisha) of Chewelah, Washington, great-grandchildren; Rachelle Brunet, Christian Brunet, Bryce Dahl, Tiffany Brunet, Tyler Dahl, Zachary Brunet, Joshua Dahl and great-grandson Braiden Brunet.

She also leaves her sister Donna Larson, Fort Dodge, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held at Danekas Funeral Chapel on January 5, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Stan Chambers from Crossroads Community Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, CA 94010-1795.
