(Age 86)

Born May 16, 1925, in Cooperstown, ND, passed away on February 15, 2012, from a short, courageous battle with cancer at Holy Family Hospital, Spokane, WA.

Eunice worked as the first woman bank teller in Cooperstown, ND for a year after graduating from high school.

She went on to attend Nurses training at St. Johns Hospital, Fargo, ND during WWII than worked for two years as a staff nurse at St. Lukes Hospital in Spokane, WA.

On June 15, 1950, she married Kermit Owens.

For thirty-five years she managed her husband’s law office until the practice was sold in 1994.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her parents, John and Effie Anderson: her husband Kermit Owens; and her sister Helen Frietag.

She was married to Kermit for over 50 years.
Mrs.

Owens was a devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by: sons, Stephen and John Owens both of Spokane, daughters, Dorella Johnson of Kirkland, WA, Eileen Owens of Kirkland, WA , Nancy and husband Jeff Fallgren of Bellevue, WA: sisters Alice Klein of Huntington Beach, CA, sister Betty Anderson of Riverside, CA, Gladys Anderson of Cooperstown, ND and brother Clifford and wife Ovidia Anderson of Cooperstown: four grandchildren: James, Jacinda, Kristina and Ryan, one great-grandson Aiden, two great grand-daughters Kylie, Aliyah and numerous nieces and nephews.

Owens had been a resident of the Spokane community for over 64 years.
A funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 12 noon at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division; Burial at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21 ,2012 at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mrs. Owens’ husband Kermit Owens.
