SEATTLE – Washington guard C.J. Wilcox has a stress fracture in his right femur near his hip and is doubtful to play next weekend against California and Stanford.

Wilcox sat out of Sunday night’s game against rival Washington State, a 75-65 Huskies victory.

A second MRI revealed the injury and Washington coach Lorenzo Romar said doctors believe Wilcox can heal with rest.

Romar said they are hopeful Wilcox will be ready to go for the Huskies’ trip to Arizona and Arizona State in the final week of January.

Wilcox was coming off a career-high 25 points against city rival Seattle University on Jan. 10.

For the season, the sophomore guard is averaging 15.5 points – second on the team to freshman guard Tony Wroten – and shooting 44 percent from 3-point range.
