From Staff And Wire Reports

NBA: Deron Williams is staying with the Nets.

The All-Star point guard says on his Twitter page that he “made a very tough decision today” and posted a picture of the new team logo that accompanies the Nets’ move from New Jersey to Brooklyn.

A person with knowledge of the decision says Williams told the team Tuesday he was accepting their five-year contract worth $98 million.

Williams, the top free agent available, chose to stay with the Nets over signing with his hometown team, the Dallas Mavericks.

Pacers, Hill come to terms: The Indiana Pacers and point guard George Hill agreed to a new deal.

Hill’s co-agent, Michael Whitaker, wrote in a text message that Hill, a 26-year-old restricted free agent, will sign once the NBA’s moratorium period ends on July 11. He did not disclose terms.

Two first-round picks sign: The Golden State Warriors signed first-round pick Harrison Barnes.

Barnes led North Carolina with 17.1 points per game and also grabbed 5.2 rebounds last season.

The Magic signed first-round draft pick Andrew Nicholson.

Nicholson, a 6-foot-9 forward out of St. Bonaventure, was the 19th overall selection in last week’s draft and was the Atlantic 10 Conference player of the year as a senior last season.

Gordon agrees to deal with Suns: A person familiar with the talks says restricted free agent guard Eric Gordon has agreed to a four-year deal with the Phoenix Suns worth about $58 million.

The New Orleans Hornets have the right to match the deal and keep Gordon.

No new arena for Sacramento: Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson’s “Plan B” to build a new sports arena is dead.

The second option for a new arena for the Sacramento Kings – or any other professional sports tenant – never really took shape.

Johnson said that the city and arena operator AEG have concluded that the financial model is not viable for the region without an anchor sports tenant.

Odom declines tryout for Olympic team

Olympics: USA Basketball says Lamar Odom won’t try to earn an Olympic roster spot, leaving the Americans with 15 players for 12 spots.

Odom informed USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski that he was unable to play this summer.

With the Americans lacking size up front, Odom’s departure could strengthen new Clippers teammate Blake Griffin’s hopes of making the team, or perhaps open the door for Memphis’ Rudy Gay.

The remaining players that are expected to report to camp Thursday in Las Vegas are: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Tyson Chandler, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, Andre Iguodala, James Harden, Eric Gordon and rookie Anthony Davis. Davis sprained his ankle Saturday and his status is not yet known.

Dallas signs Jagr to free-agent pact

NHL: While the two biggest stars on the NHL free-agent market were still pondering their futures, a future Hall of Famer found a new home in Texas.

The Dallas Stars signed 40-year Jaromir Jagr to a one-year deal worth $4.55 million.

Ryan Suter and Zach Parise, however, were not yet ready to pick a team to play for next season and beyond.

Colorado kept defenseman Erik Johnson thanks to a $15 million, four-year deal and New Jersey retained defenseman Bryce Salvador with a $9.5 million, three-year contract.

Coyotes forward hospitalized: Phoenix Coyotes forward Brett MacLean is in intensive care at a Canadian hospital after the team says he suffered a “cardiac emergency” during a pickup hockey game.

MacLean was a Phoenix second-round draft pick in 2007. He played 13 games for the Coyotes in the 2010-11 season.

ACC, Orange Bowl reach agreement

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: The Atlantic Coast Conference will stay tied to the Orange Bowl.

The league announced a 12-year agreement with the bowl beginning after the 2014 season. It says details on the opponent and broadcast partner will come later.

The ACC has sent its champion to the South Florida-based bowl every year since 2006.
